We started Travelense because we were tired of travel guides that felt like they were written by someone who’d never actually been there. Generic itineraries. Recycled tips. The same ten “hidden gems” that aren’t hidden anymore. We wanted something different — and when we couldn’t find it, we built it.
Why Travelense Exists
Europe is endlessly surprising. A backstreet in Lisbon that stops you in your tracks. A village in Croatia you stumble into by accident and never want to leave. A rainy afternoon in a Paris café that turns into one of your favourite memories. These are the moments that make travel worth it — and they rarely show up in a standard travel guide.
Travelense exists to help you find those moments. We cover ten European countries — France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Croatia — and we cover them properly. Not just the capitals. Not just the highlights reel. The real texture of each place, written for people who travel with curiosity rather than a checklist.
Who We Are
Travelense is put together by a small editorial team with a shared obsession: making European travel less overwhelming and more enjoyable for everyone. We combine hands-on research, local knowledge, and a lot of fact-checking to make sure what we publish is actually useful — not just another roundup of the same places everyone already knows.
We’re not travel influencers. We don’t have a sponsorship deal with a luggage brand. We’re a small team that cares about getting the details right — the practical stuff, the cultural stuff, and the occasional “we wish someone had told us this before they went” stuff.
What Makes Us Different
We write for how people actually travel. Not everyone has three weeks and an unlimited budget. Not everyone wants to spend every minute sightseeing. We cover trips for couples, solo travellers, families, first-timers, and people who’ve been to Paris four times and want to know what to do differently on the fifth.
We keep things current. Entry requirements change. Prices shift. That restaurant everyone recommended two years ago is now a phone shop. We update our content regularly so you’re not planning a trip based on information that’s quietly gone stale.
We’re honest about tradeoffs. Every destination has something that’s genuinely wonderful and something that’s genuinely annoying. We’ll tell you both. A guide that only tells you the good stuff isn’t actually useful — it’s just flattering the destination.
We built a free itinerary tool. Because sometimes you just want someone to help you figure out the logistics. Tell us where you’re going, how long you have, and what kind of trip you’re after — we’ll put together a personalised plan for you. No signup required, no catch.
